"Monitoring and assessment made by Chinese Academy of Sciences and relevant departments show that all kinds of ecological system structures in Tibet are stable and ecological quality is good. At present, Tibet is still one of the areas with best environment quality in the world," says Hu Weimin, deputy of the 9th Tibet Autonomous Regional Congress of the CPC, party secretary and deputy director of Tibet Environmental ProtectionDepartment.

By implementing relevant policies and regulations, Tibet gradually realizes the normalization and  legalization of ecological construction and environment protection.

"The masses are involved in the progress of ecological protection and they can enjoy the benefits directly," says Tsering Palmo, deputy of the 9th Tibet Autonomous Regional Congress of the CPC, party secretary and village committee director of Gyamuk Village, Shiquanhe Town, Gar County, Ngari Prefecture.

"On the basis of protecting native vegetation, we give full play to the advantages of forest resources and make ecological tourism planning.  We also promote the poverty alleviation work by taking advantage of ecological protection work. Local labors with the ability to work can be employed as ecological guardians, which can not only protect environment, but also let the poor families get rid of poverty," says Nyima Butri, deputy of the 9th Tibet Autonomous Regional Congress of the CPC, party secretary of Shigatse Forestry Bureau.

Now and for a fairly long time, it is an important stage for Tibet to strengthen the construction of ecological function zone and enhance the ability of self development.
