"We are putting the medicine in order, all these are products of our company," says Wangdu, who runs a Tibetan medicine company with his partner Sonam Drakpa in Lhari County, Nagqu, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

In 2017, Wangdu and Sonam Drakpa attended a meeting held by the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Lhari County. Being informed of preferential policies for university graduates starting up businesses, the two young men sharing the same passion on Tibetan medicine decided to set up their own company.

"The place with the lowest altitude in Lhari County is over 2,000 meters above the sea level, and the highest one is over 5,000 meters; the special geographical conditions make Nagqu's Lhari County being rich in many high-value Tibetan medicinal herbs. We set up this company to better protect and inherit Tibetan medicinal materials and Tibetan medicine culture." Wangdu says.

"We got 50,000 yuan RMB for beginning startups from the government, and didn't need to pay the rent of working place at beginning." Sonam Drakpa says, "Now, the company's marketing channel is expanding. Lhari County Tibetan Hospital, Nagqu City Tibetan Hospital and Tibet Autonomous Region Tibetan Hospital purchase Tibetan medicine from our company."

"These young men are well-educated, they teach us lots of Tibetan medical knowledge," says Ngodrup Rinchen, who works in the company. He is from a registered poor household and satisfied with his fixed monthly income from the company.

Through concerted efforts, their business is getting better and better. "Sale of products is predicted to reach one million yuan RMB by the end of this year," says Wangdu, who is confident in the company's future.
