Hot spring sanatoriums increase Chabka villagers’ income

Chabka Village is 2.5 kilometers away from Xaitongmoin County of Xigaze City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Located on a fault zone, the village owns abundant geothermal resources. Local hot spring water is rich in copper, zinc and other minerals that are beneficial to human health, and has therapeutic effects on arthritis and skin diseases. Villagers make use of the unique geothermal resources to open hot spring hotels to increase their income and get rich; 14 families in the village run hot spring sanatoriums and 15 families run guesthouses. Besides, the village has 17 cooperatives, including Tibetan knives, leather goods, Thangka and furniture, realizing a per capita net income of 12,340 yuan RMB in 2018.
