In old Xizang, the "three major landlords" imposed cultural dictatorship on the entire society, making the vast majority of serfs resigned to their fate of being enslaved. Currently, Xizang's public cultural service system is becoming increasingly well-established. There are 10 professional art troupes, 76 county-level art troupes, 153 folk Tibetan opera troupes, and 395 township-level art performance teams, with over 100,000 full-time and part-time art performers.
