On August 13, the 26th Daglung Border Commodity Fair was kicked off in Nanggarze County, Lhoka City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and it will last until August 20.
Luo Wenjin, deputy secretary and governor of Nanggarze County, introduces that by relying on rich cultural and tourism resources, a series of commodity and cultural exchange activities including national handicrafts sales exhibition, native products sales exhibition, and intangible cultural heritage show will be held. At the same time, characteristic song and dance performance, traditional Tibetan opera performance, horse racing, and so on will also be held. This fair aims to carry forward the culture of Nanggarze County, expand the recognition and reputation of local cultural and tourism brands, let the world have a better knowledge of Nanggarze County, enrich the masses' cultural life, lead local people to increase incomes, and promote the prosperity of economic and trade circulation.
More than 1000 commercial tenants from Lhasa, Shigatse, Lhoka, Ngari, and other places will take part in the commodity fair. It has 5 exhibition areas, namely daily necessities area, featured products area, catering and entertainment area, live livestock trading area, and furniture area.
Li Xiaoyong, party secretary of Daglung Town, introduces that, last year, the trading volume of live livestock was over 1400 heads. This year, it is expected to make a breakthrough. In addition, this year, every livestock is accompanied with a electronic birth certificate, and the buyers can rest assured to buy. Apart from that, Gorxie performance (traditional Tibetan song and dance) will be showed to the masses.
