The 16th Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival has already opened in Gala Village of Bayi, Nyingchi of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, on March 29. Thanks to the platform offered by this event, through which Nyingchi will promote industries with local characteristics, such as Nyingchi tea and beer.

There are three venues ( Menling County, Pome County and Kongpo Gyamda County) of this one-month festival. While enjoying the beautiful natural scenery, tourists could join in a variety of activities including Thangka exhibition, photography exhibition and folk sports activity. Not only does the event inherit the folk traditions, but also it adds some modern elements. With VR technology, visitors will enjoy a 360-degree view of Nyingchi’s natural scenery. Besides, tourists could experience new-energy vehicles in Nyingchi. 

Before the festival, marketing activities of Nyingchi Peach Blossom Festival have been held in Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing and other major cities of China. Besides, preferential policies for tourists echo the initiative of “Winter tours in Tibet”. Seven national A-class scenic spots in Nyingchi open to visitors for free. There are more flights from Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guangzhou and Xian to Tibet’s Nyingchi. 

In recent years, with unique tourism resources, Nyingchi focuses on the development of ecotourism, which is also a way to increase the local income. In 2017, Nyingchi received 5.18 million tourists, generating 4.54 billion yuan in tourism revenue.
