Recently, the 1st Border Trade Cultural Tourism Festival was held in Gyirong County.

With the theme of "recalling the China-Nepal ancient road and reshaping the South Asian passage" and taking promoting in-depth exchange and integration of border trade as the main line, a series of cultural and tourism activities with ornamental, participatory and artistic features were held. In addition, Nepalese and Pakistani companies, Nepal chamber of commerce in Yiwu, Guangdong and influential chambers of commerce in China were also invited to participate in the exhibition and sales activities of featured products of Gyirong and South Asia.

Through holding this festival, Gyriong County's unique history and culture, diverse ethnic customs, beautiful natural scenery, and open investment environment were shown in front of the public, promoting the prosperous development of cultural and tourism industry and border trade, as well as expanding the two-way investment and trade between Xigaze City and the surrounding South Asian cities.
