On the morning of December 20, the 12th Nagqu Livestock Products Fair was kicked off. It will last from December 20 to 24 for five days.
With the theme of "showing characteristic livestock products, building platform for increasing the masses' income, and boosting poverty alleviation", through market guidance, government services, policy support, farmers and herdsmen's participation and other measures, the fair vigorously promotes fine and deep processing of livestock products, so as to promote the transformation and upgrading of the animal husbandry industry, help poverty alleviation and build a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
Livestock products produced by cooperatives and enterprises from 12 counties (districts) of Nagqu City will be exhibited on the fair. Local specialties and Tibetan medicinal materials from Sog County, Xainza County, Lhari County and the municipal Tibetan medicine factory will also be exhibited. The specific products include all kinds of meat such as yak meat, mutton, pork and so on, dairy products, furs such as sheepskin, cashmere, cowhide and so on, agricultural products such as butter, tsampa, potato and so on, Tibetan medicinal materials such as Chinese caterpillar fungus, fritillaria, snow lotus snow ganoderma lucidum and so on, as well as handicrafts such as Tibetan clothing, Tibetan hat, Tibetan boots, Tibetan bags and so on.
