According to the Lhasa Forestry Bureau, so far, more than 38000 strains of Chinese pines have been planted on the south mountain of Lhasa City. This year, the green project of south mountain has been completed. Now it has entered the stage of later maintenance.

This green project realizes a breakthrough in massive-artificially planting trees at an elevation of over 3900 meters.

This project, to a great extent, improves Lhasa City's ecological environment. According to calculations, newly planted forest vegetation can reduce 4087.29 tons of sediment loads every year. At the same time, it also can absorb a variety of harmful gases.
