Maqu Town of Amdo County, Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, is located in the Geladandong ecological preservation area, the source region of Yangtze river. In recent years, Maqu Town has been earnestly carrying out the activity of protecting the ecological environment of the source of Yangtze river. Every Friday, the party committee and government of Maqu Town will organize party members and cadres, staff, and local people to clean up white trashes in the source region of Yangtze river, and convey the trashes to designated sites for disposing with the aim of protecting ecological environment.
