To promote the development of environmental protection cause in Tibet's mountain regions and support the poverty alleviation work for local people, recently, the Himalaya Mountain Environmental Protection Foundation was established in Lhasa.

Nima Tsering, deputy director of the Sports Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region, introduces that the Himalaya Mountain Environmental Protection Foundation is co-established by the Tibet Mountaineering Management Center (Tibet Mountaineering Association) and the Tibet Holy Mountain Mountaineering Expedition Service Company. So far, the foundation has raised a fund of over 3 million yuan.

The foundation mainly aims to support the local environmental protection career, lead local farmers and herdsmen to get rid of poverty by taking part in environmental protection work, commending outstanding groups and individuals who make contributions in local environmental protection career, effectively promote Tibet's mountain environmental protection work, and make due contributions in building a beautiful Tibet.
