In 2012, the greening project of Lhasa South Mountain was launched. Through planting trees, now the South Mountain has become a beautiful park.

At present, about 900000 trees have been planted on the Lhasa South Mountain and the greening area is nearly 3500 mu. Newly planted vegetation can reduce 4000 tons of sediment every year, which effectively reduces water and soil erosion and improves ecological environment.
