Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, has launched the voluntary tree planting campaign since March 20. Afforestation plays an important role in improving ecological environment. It is also a responsibility for all citizens. This year marks the 37th anniversary of voluntary tree planting campaign. Lhasa will hold the voluntary tree planting activity every year, in order to increase the environmental awareness and encourage citizens to plant more trees.

On the basis of the general task and survival rate of trees, this activity held in Tsalna Town, Chushur County of Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, will focus on replanting trees, including digging and irrigation. It aims to ensure that more than 85 precent of trees can survive.

The Forestry Bureau of Lhasa City has given out “Technical Points for Voluntary Tree Planting”. Besides, on May, the Afforestation Committee will test the trees planted during the period of the voluntary tree planting activity.
