Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Lhoka City has been earnestly implementing the work of ecological civilization construction and environmental protection, and good achievements have been made.

Over the past five years, the water qualification rate of water sources in Lhoka City is 100%. The water quality of major rivers and lakes reaches or exceeds the national standard. The rate of good air quality is maintained at above 96%. The total emission of major pollutants is within the  indication range of Tibet autonomous region. Besides, sewage treatment plant, centralized medical waste disposal center, construction waste disposal site, and refuse landfill are built and put into use.

In addition, protection engineering for 21 centralized urban drinking water sources and 695 rural drinking water sources is carried out. Environmental supervision work is also vigorously implemented.
