Recently, the State Grid Lhasa Power Supply Company carried out pilot work on changing boxes in some sections of old urban areas in Lhasa City, capital of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. It used new electric boxes with “State Grid Green” color and Tibetan-style paintings substituting for old ones with graffiti and advertisements, which attracted the public praises. By now, 519 electric boxes (218 box type substations and ring cages, 301 low voltage branch boxes) have been replaced with the new ones in Lhasa. [Liu Fang, Hu Wen]
