In recent years, Chengguan District of Lhasa City has vigorously implemented ecological and environmental protection greening and afforestation projects, and the green coverage rate has been continuously improved.

This year, 682.5 mu (45.5hectares ) of afforestation areas have been completed with an investment of 317.17 million yuan. Through the implementation of the rural drinking water source protection project and the Lalu Wetland Phase III protection project, as well as relying on the afforestation project in the Chengguan section of the Lhasa river basin, the project of returning farmland to forest and the protection forest around Lhasa, the green garden city has been continuously strengthened. At present, the excellent and good rate of atmospheric environmental quality ofChengguan District has reached the functional area standard of 98.1%, and the urban green coverage rate has reached 36.73%.
