Zhomda Village in Nang County of Nyingchi City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, aims at maintaining its environmental sanitation, improves villagers' environment protection awareness, sets up "Zhomda Village Garbage Exchange Supermarket" to achieve reduction, harmlessness and recycling of garbage in April of this year, and establishes a garbage recycling model of "villagers collect and classify garbage to exchange commodities at fixed-points", with an investment of 4,500 yuan RMB.
The supermarket mainly recycles mineral water bottles, cans, waste newspapers, plastic products, glass bottles and other domestic waste, and also collects hazardous waste, such as waste batteries and pesticide bottles; exchange commodities include soy sauce, vinegar, detergent, toothbrush, soap and other daily necessities. The garbage exchange activity has greatly increased people's enthusiasm for cleaning up the hometown.
"Garbage Exchange Supermarket" creates a positive impact on fostering the rural civilization and gradually changing villagers' habits of discarding garbage casually through compensated recycling, which not only effectively reduces pesticide residues, heavy metals and white pollution, but also increases villagers' extra income, and realizes protecting ecological environment protection, changing outmoded habits as well as increasing economic benefits.
