Tibet’s tourism sector has issued 70 tourism administrative penalties last year, among which, 3 are ordered to stop business operations for rectification and 4 are revoked licenses, according to Yu Dawa,executive deputy director of Tibet Tourism Development Committee.
This year is confirmed as “Tibet’s tourism safety year” by the government. As the peak tourism season is approaching, some special activities will be held to standardize tourism market.
Statistics show that among the 70 tourism administrative penalties, 30 are warnings, 34 are for fine penalty, 3 are ordered to stop business operations for rectification, 4 are suspended licenses and 4 are revoked licenses. The penal sum is 239500 yuan RMB.
Last year, 77 travel agencies were inspected and 17 illegal agencies were punished. 5 passenger vehicles were overhauled on the site. 40 illegal guides were investigated and punished and 17 tour guide licenses were suspended.
