It is impossible to capture all of Tibet's natural beauty in your photographs no matter how many pictures you take and how many times you take. You will always find new beauty. Tibet is worth visiting again and again, each time filling your camera with new images.

1. The Potala Palace

When photographing the Potala Palace from the front, contrast the palace with the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds. Taking a panorama or wide-angle shot will yield magnificent results.

To the west of the square, the Yaowang Mountain viewing platform is the best place to shoot the palace. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to photograph.

Behind the palace is the Longwangtan Park (Dzongyab Lukhang in Tibetan language), where the trees are lush and the pool vast. Here you can take many quality shots of the pleasant aesthetics.

2. The Johkang Temple

There are many people making pilgrimage to the Johkang Temple every day. At dawn and dusk when the sun is shining off the golden roof, as if a holy aura is illuminating the scene. In the square in front of the structure, you can photograph thousands of people making their holy pilgrimage.

3. The Drepung Monastary

The Drepung Monastary is located at the foot of the mountain in Lhasa's western suburb. Normally, you can take pictures of the monks and the temple, as well as debating Buddhist scriptures. The best shot is the Lhasa Shoton festival, when tens of thousands of believers gather on the mountaintop around an enormous Thangka to pray-a truly spectacular sight.

4. The road from Lhasa to Shigatse

On the road you can see the Yarlung Tsangpo River, the flowing water, the steep cliffs, and the oilseed rape flowers and ocean-like highland barley fields in summer.

5. Mount Qomolangma

In early morning and evening from Jiawula Mountain, you can see the majestic Mount Qomolangma. The scene is most beautiful at dusk. If you can stay overnight, the place becomes something of a moonlight fairyland. It's worth getting up early to see the sunrise, when the light makes the mists turn gold.
