It is reported that Shigatse will held the promotion activity themed as “2015 Experience Tsang, Experience Mt. Qomolangma in Winter” on Nov. 27.
With the support from Tourism Development Committee of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region ( TAR ), this activity, lasting to Dec. 2, means to heats up “Winter Travel to Tibet” and promotes it to both home and abroad.
During the period of this promotion, tourism resources of Shigatse, China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, will be the key recommendations, intending to make Shigatse the “Golden Tourism Region” in Tibet. In addition, many famous inbound travel agencies such as CITS ( China International Travel Service ), CYTS ( China Youth Travel Service ) will come to Shigatse for integrated survey, which gives creative thoughts and new ideas on the development and combination of Tibetan tourism products. Besides, the first-hand information during the period of “Experience Tsang, Experience Mt. Qomolangma” will be beneficial for the promotion and sales of Shigatse’s tourism products.
Shigatse, located in southwestern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is famous for Mt. Qomolangma, Tashilhunpo Monastery and other spots. Besides, the Lhasa- Shigatse railway that have already come into service promotes the development of tourism industry. According to the official data, in the first nine months of 2015, Shigatse welcomed 2.04 million tourists, generating over 1.73 billion yuan in revenue.
