It is reported from the Lhasa Railway Station that the Spring Festival travel rush begins from January 1st to March 4th, 40 days in total. 

According to the rules that train tickets are released further in advance, starting from November 26th, Spring Festival travel tickets are available online or by telephone. Besides, tickets during Spring Festival travel rush are released from November 28th at Lhasa Railway Station. Currently, the train tickets departing from Tibet are not in short supply. If passengers want to leave for Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou by train, they can book the tickets one day before. Now, it is the time that migrant workers return hometown. Company managers will buy group tickets for migrant workers at railway station. 

After November 15th, the weather gets colder. Therefore, many construction projects stop during the winter downtime in southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. The boss of construction company can fill in an application for booking group tickets for migrant workers. 

The Spring Festival Rush of 2016 will be from January 1st to March 4th. Tickets are available 60 days in advance online or by telephone, 58 days ahead of departure date at railway stations and designated ticket offices. The upcoming Spring Festival travel rush is the largest annual migration on Earth. Tickets demands will far exceed supply during this period. It  is advisable to make an early reservation if you plan to travel by rail.
