Pelung bridge is the first hybrid beam double tower stayed-cable bridge in China with an investment of 280 million yuan RMB. It is expected to open to traffic next month.
After that, new running line will effectively avoids Tangmai natural barrier and greatly improves traffic condition of 318 national highway.
According to Transport Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, Pelung bridge, a control project of renovation item between G318 and 105 track was put together at 12:15 on Nov. 16.
The bridge is 743 meters in length and spans 430 meters. It is the biggest double tower stayed-cable bridge in Tibet. Moreover, It is reported that the main work of the bridge has been completed and the project has lasted for four years.
Pelung natural barrier, located in Monpa nationality township in Nyingchi County of Tibet, is one of the most dangerous section of Sichuan-Tibet highway.
