It is reported from Shigatse Travel Bureau of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region that Shigatse launches three tour routes of “ Winter travel to Tsang, explore Mt. Qomolangma”, providing a good opportunity for tourists from home and abroad to experience the beauty of Tsang.
Route 1 : Shigatse→Bainang→Gyantse→Khangmar→Dromo
Most of scenic spots are distributed along the road, of which the filming location of Red River Valley let tourists recall the history that Tibetan people fought against aggression and safeguarded national unity. In addition, foreign commodities are available in Dromo, a Chinese town located in Sino-India border region.
Route 2 : Shigatse→Lhatse→Dingri→Saga→Drongpa
Attractions are mainly located along the No. 219 highway. Tourists will experience the mystery of Drongpa County where boasts the source of Yarlung Zangbo River. What’s more, tourists can enjoy the delicious Tibetan cuisine with characteristics of Shigatse.
Route 3 : Shigatse→Sakya→Lhatse→Dingri→Kyirong
Scenery spots such as the Tashilhunpo Monastery and Sakya Monastery are mainly along the No. 318 highway. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt. Qomolangma and Kyironggou.
In winter, tickets of some scenic spots are half price. Air tickets and hotels give special discounts. Traveling to Tibet in winter is a good choice for tourists.
Shigatse, located in southwestern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is famous for Mt. Qomolangma, Tashilhunpo Monastery and other spots. Besides, the Lhasa- Shigatse railway that have already come into service promotes the development of tourism industry. According to the official data, in the first nine months of 2015, Shigatse welcomed 2.04 million tourists, generating over 1.73 billion yuan in revenue.
