Travel to the Lake Baksum Tso

The Lake Baksum Tso, located in Tsongo village, Kongpo Gyamda county, Nyingchi prefecture, southwest China’s Autonomous Region, is surrounded by mountains, and has a moderate climate with wonderful landscape. With an average altitude of 3,538 meters, "Baksum Tso", literally "a lake situated amid three rocky mountains" in Tibetan, was evaluated as AAAA tourist scenic region in 2000.

Tips:

I. Admission: 120 RMB    Open time: 9:00 a.m.---6:00 p.m.

II. Transportation: Passengers need to take shuttle bus from Lhasa to Bayi at Lhasa Dongjiao Bus Station and get off at Baher Town. Then, passengers takes bus to Lake Baksum Tso, which will takes about 4 hours.

III. Accommodations: Hotels at the Holiday Resort at the Lake Baksum Tso provide accommodations. There are also some family inns in kyerpa Village, which is a good chance for experiencing the local custom.

IV. Morning and dusk in autumn are perfect times for enjoying the most beautiful scenery of Lake Baksum Tso. Many outdoor enthusiasts always camp for watching beautiful scenery. It is better to keep warm when enjoy sunrise. Besides, winter travel is also a good choice.
