Tibet tour in winter, top five itineraries

Top 1: Lhasa---Shigatse---Tsochen---Sengye Tsangpo---Purang

Along this route, tourists will go through vast Ngari grassland and enjoy the beautiful scenery of famous mountains and lakes, such as Gang Rinpoche and Mapham Yutso.

Top 2: Lhasa---Shigatse

Route 1 : Shigatse→Bainang→Gyantse→Khangmar→Dromo

Most of scenic spots are distributed along the road, of which the filming location of “Red River Valley” let tourists recall the history that Tibetan people fought against aggression and safeguarded national unity. In addition, foreign commodities are available in Dromo, a Chinese town located in Sino-India border region.

Route 2 : Shigatse→Lhatse→Dingri→Saga→Drongpa

Attractions are mainly located along the No. 219 highway. Tourists will experience the mystery of Drongpa County where boasts the source of Yarlung Zangbo River. What’s more, tourists can enjoy the delicious Tibetan cuisine with characteristics of Shigatse.

Route 3 : Shigatse→Sakya→Lhatse→Dingri→Kyirong

Scenery spots such as the Tashilhunpo Monastery and Sakya Monastery are mainly along the No. 318 highway. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt. Qomolangma and Kyironggou.

Top 3: Lhasa---Shannan

Shannan Prefecture, the birthplace of Tibetan, boasts old Yarlung Valley Civilization. There are many famous attractions along this route. Samye Monastery is the first monastery in Tibet. Yumbulagang, the first palace in Tibet, is a worthwhile visit for those Tibetan history lovers. Lhamoi Lhatso Lake, a holy lake, is situated at an altitude of 5,000 meters. People always try to find "hints" of their life by staring at shadow reflected on the lake.

Top 4: Lhasa---Nagqu---Golmud

This route, mainly characterized by snowy scenery of grassland, is along Qinghai-Tibet highway. Every Year, Tsurpu Monastery, Yangpachen, Lake Namtso, Mt. Nyangchen Thanglha and other scenic spots attract lots of tourists from both home and abroad.

Top 5: Lhasa---Nyingchi

Nyingchi, "the throne of sun" in Tibetan, is located in the southeast of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. It is famous for Lake Baksum Tso, Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon, Nanyigou and other attractions, providing a good chance for exploring and traveling.
