It is reported that on the fourth session of the 10th Tibet People's Congress, Losang Jamcan, chairman of the government of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), announced that in the 13th Five-Year Plan, Tibet will create exquisite tourism routes and build the barrier-free tourism zone.
This is the first time that Tibet Autonomous Region officially introduces the idea of barrier-free tourism zone that is added to the report of the Tibet Autonomous Regional government.
The barrier-free tourism zone aims to realize economic cooperation in terms of tourism within the region by eliminating barriers maximally.
Officials said that this action intends to realize the unimpeded flow of different tourism items such as the movement of funds, technology and communication of information, passenger flow and the mobility of talents, sharing the tourism resources, products, market and information in the region.
Barrier-free tourism zone conforms to the development of Tibet's tourism economy and the rules of international and domestic tourism industry.

In 2015, Tibet received 20 million tourists, bringing 28 billion yuan to tourism revenue. Besides, Tibet held two China Tibet Tourism and Culture Expos successively.
Losang Jamcan also said that at the end of 13th Five-Year Plan, Tibet is hoped to receive over 30 million tourists and bring in more than 55 billion yuan's tourism revenue.
