According to Potala Palace Management Office, Potala Palace, known as “a pearl on the roof of the world”, welcomed more than 0.9 million tourists last year.
There are two standards for Potala Palace’s ticket price. During the tourism peak season from May 1 to October 31, the price is 200 yuan ( 30.82 U.S dollars). The price is half of that in the tourism off season from November 1 to April 30. Students with student cards and ID cards, the disable with a disability certificate, servicemen with a military card, teachers with a teaching certificate and the elderly with senior citizen card can enjoy half price. Besides, Potala Palace is free to children less than 1.2 meters tall.
As spring comes, the weather gets warmer. Currently, the number of tourists for visiting Potala Palace is on the increase. Every peak season, the ticket of Potala Palace is in short supply. Tourists need to wait for several days in order to get the Potala Palace ticket.
With a history of more than 1,300 years, Potala Palace is located in Lhasa, capital of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. It is the largest and most complete architectural complex of old castle in Tibet, which involves in palace, castle and temple.
