It is reported from Dingri County of Shigatse, southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region that Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp scenic spot received 1,116 tourists from Jan. to Mar. in 2016, a year-on-year growth of 45.1 percent.

In recent years, China’s Tibet has increased the investment on infrastructures at Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp scenic spot. Currently, Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp has already had access to electricity. The asphalt road from Dingri County to Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp has been put into service on July of 2015. Transportation at Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp scenic spot has achieved great improvement. Besides, the comprehensive tourist zone involving in medical assistance, catering services, accommodation, shopping and other functions will open to the public on May of this year.

Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp, at an altitude of 5,200 meters, is a famous attraction. Tourists need to take their ID cards and border passes. What’s more, because of large difference of temperatures between day and night at Mt. Qomolangma Base Camp scenic spot, tourists should wrap up warm. Moreover, tourists should strengthen environmental awareness and protect the local environment.
