It is reported that extra trains have been added since May 15. There are some changes in time and numbers of Lhasa Railway Station's trains. Among that, the train between Lhasa and Shanghai adds a new stop-Suzhou Station. The train between Lhasa and the north of Chongqing adds Nanchong Station and Guangyuan Station. Besides, an extra train is added between Lhasa and Shigatse.

Before these changes, there was only one train Z8801 linking Lhasa and Shigatse. Z8801 departed from Lhasa at 9:00 am and Z8802 from Shigatse arrived in Lhasa at 8:33 pm. Since May 15, Z8801 departs from Lhasa at 8:30 am and Z8802 from Shigatse arrives in Lhasa at 9:33 pm. Therefore, passengers taking Z8801 need to arrive at Lhasa Railway Station one hour ahead of departure time. In addition, Z918 and Z6802 depart from Lhasa at 8:50 am.

In order to meet tourists' demand,  a commuter train was added between Lhasa and Shigatse. Z8803 departs from Lhasa at 3:20 pm and arrives in Shigatse at 5:59 pm. Z8804 departs from Shigatse at 12:05 am and arrives in Lhasa at 2:40 pm.
