As a new type of tourism, rural tourism is an important branch of ecological tourism. The rural tourism's development will improve the circulation of people, logistic and information, and promote the further development of commerce, exhibition and dwelling at the same time. In recent years, with improved infrastructures, Chengguan District's tourism develops very well, especially the rural tourism project.
According to the Travel and Tourism Administration of Chengguan District, Lhasa City, the 2nd Nectarine Picking Festival of Chengguan District will take full advantage of the resources of travel agencies with the aim of letting tourists having fun and enjoying beautiful pastoral scenery.
With an investment of 37.944 million yuan, the nectarine planting project was implemented in Baiding Village, Caigungtang Town, Chengguan District in 2014. At present, covering an area of 1064 mu, there are over 190,000 nectarine trees in Baiding Village.
"This year is the 2nd Nectarine Picking Festival and it will be held by the end of August. In addition, traditional Tibetan billiard game will be involved too," says Chonyi Wangmo, director of the Travel and Tourism Administration of Chengguan District.
As for related activities and participation ways, they will be published on the WeChat platform.
With beautiful natural scenery and rich crops, Baiding Village is a good tourism destination. It takes about 10 minutes to go there from Lhasa city center. By the end of August, people can pick up nectarine and experience other activities during the festival.
