The flight TV9872 took off from Beijing via Lanzhou and arrived at Lhasa on July 12, inaugurating a new air route from Beijing to Tibet.
The new air route is a round trip flight and it will take off every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The flightTV9872 takes off from Beiing at 6:30, while flightTV9871takes off from Lhasa at 19:35. It takes about 6 hours for one-way trip and it will stop by Lanzhou.
As it is peak tourist season now, tourists come in and out Tibet are increasing. In 2015,Tibet cumulatively received 20 million tourists, among which the air passengers are 3.63 million.
