It is reported that “Winter Tour to Mt. Qomolangma” has kicked off on Nov.1. This activity will last till next March 31. During the period, Mt.Qomolangma base camp will sell tickets for RMB 90 (13.3 U.S. dollars ), compared to RMB 180 (26.6 U.S. dollars) before November. Besides, tourists could have a chance to get a souvenir with a design of Mt. Qomolangma base camp. A director of Dingri County Tourism Administration said that winter is a season with the highest visibility, therefore, tourists could see Mt.Qomolangma more clearly.
Tents at Mt.Qomolangma base camp are dismantled every October 20. Some tourists worried about the accommodation problem. Dingri County Tourism Administration responded that visitors could live in hotels located in Rongpo Monastery, Dingri County and Pelbar Town. Furthermore, tourists will receive treatment in time if they get a sudden illness or an injury.
A border pass is required for visitors going to the Mt.Qomolangma scenic spot. Tourists could call 0892-8263013 for weather and road information in scenic spot.
The 8,844-meter-high Mt. Qomolangma, located on the border of China and Nepal, is the world's highest mountain.
