Tibet airports' annual passenger throughput breaks four million

The annual of passenger throughput of Tibet's airports broke four million for the first time on Dec 25, 2016, which is a new milestone in Tibet's civil aviation industry.

Thanks to the rapid development of Tibet economy and society, Tibet's civil aviation has achieved great development. Compared with the previous year, the passenger throughput and cargo throughput have grown by 12.8 percent and 7.3 percent respectively.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration's Tibet Branch, at the moment, Tibet has formed a three-dimensional traffic system. There are five airports (Lhasa Gonggar Airport, Shigatse Peace Airport, Nyingchi Menling Airport, Chamdo Bangda Airport and Nagri Gunsa Airport) in China's Tibet. Besides, nine airlines operate 71 routes in Tibet, connecting Tibet with 41 cities.
