Lhasa's tourism revenue broke 18 bln yuan in 2016

In recent years, Lhasa's tourism develops rapidly, seeing an increasing number of tourists.

At the end of last year, Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, received more than 13.66 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 15.91 percent. The visitors brought 18.6 billion yuan in tourism revenue, up 20. 37 percent. In terms of tourist reception, the number of tourists joining in one-day tour amounted to over six million, an increase of 24.67 percent.

Thanks to the improvement of tourist service and rich culture, Lhasa's tourism market has been heating up since March of 2016.  A large number of tour groups came to Tibet. According to many travel agencies in Lhasa, 2016 saw a larger number of tourists than last year.

Lhasa's tourism market mainly based on festival activities integrates various tourism resources and creates good tourism environment. This greatly stimulate consumption. According to the data, Lhasa has completed an investment of 17.56 billion yuan in tourism infrastructure and tourism industry, an increase of 45 percent.
