As the Spring Festival holiday came to an end, Lhasa Railway Station saw large quantity of passengers leaving for Lhasa, capital of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. “I booked the train ticket 20 days in advance. Tickets demands far exceeded supply during the Festival. Luckily, I made an early reservation. Otherwise, I cannot arrive at Lhasa on time”, said Mr. Zhou who just arrived by train. Except trains and cars, most of travelers chose to take air, which will decrease the travel time.

The railway has carried 180,400 passengers by February 1, a year-on-year increase of 15.9 percent. Among them, 51,900 passengers come to Tibet, while 73,000 passengers leave Tibet, a decrease of 5.3 percent and 13.7 percent respectively. The station has taken out measures to better serve passengers on their way.
