A climbing team of over 80 has already arrived at the Mount Qomolangma base camp on April 1, and planned to conquer the world’s highest mountain---Mount Qomolangma from the northern slope. This marks the beginning of climbing season on northern slope of Mount Qomolangma in 2018.

From May 5 to 20, climbers will be divided into two batches to conquer the Mt. Qomolangma.

The environmental friendly public toilet will be built at the Mount Qomolangma base camp this year. Besides, all climbing teams will not be allowed to do cooking at the forward camp which is 6,500 meters above sea level. All dishes will be taken from the base camp to forward camp and then be heated. This is a good way for not melting glaciers from icebergs. In addition, management at Mount Qomolangma base camp will carry out cleanup activity on May.

Mount Qomolangma base camp which sits at an altitude of 5,200 meters has already gained access to reliable electricity and a road has opened to link the base camp and Tingri County.
