The 7th International Mountain Bike Race of Basom Tso will open on Apr. 30 in Basom Tso Scenic Area of Nyingchi City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The race, hosted by the Sports Bureau of TAR and Nyingchi Municipal Government, will last 3 days.
This race is the one of highest altitude in China. It has been successfully held 6 times. Participants will see beautiful landscapes and unique human landscapes during the race, involving waterfalls, meadows, original forest and traditional Tibetan houses. The race attracts lots of cycling lovers every year.
With 99 km in length, the two-day race is divided into three groups - men's group, women's group and beginners' group. The players will start their first day of the race to ride around the lake for 30 km; on the second day, they will ride another 69 km on the mountain valley track.
The registration for the race has already opened and the deadline is Apr.15. Participants from outside Tibet can register through the public Wechat account "野途骑行" (ye tu qi xing); people in Tibet can go to the appointed spots, or call 86-13628038658 to register. There are 9 registration spots in Lhasa, Nyingchi and Xigaze. The final name list of players will be released on Apr. 20.
