With an investment of 660 million yuan, the Tibet Museum in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, reopens in July after five years' renovation and expansion. It covers 65,000 square meters, with a floor area of 62,000 square meters. The museum has the exhibition area, treasure displays, public service zone, area for cultural relics study and the office zone.  

Holding the goal of forging a keen sense of national identity, the Tibet Museum is developing into an exhibition of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, including the local treasures, research, displays, education, scientific protection and cultural products. 

The Tibet folk cultural exhibition, "people living near the sun", is composed of four parts, namely living custom, production custom, festival culture and the light of the times. Over 700 displays show the highland residents' custom, culture and aesthetics.
