Thangka, a Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting, has a history of thousands of years. As a treasure in traditional Chinese art, Thangka is on the list of intangible cultural heritage. The opening of 8th Thangka Art Expo is tentatively scheduled for April 20. At the same time, the annual checkup of grading certificate for 120 Thangka masters will be held in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Besides, Thangka pieces from 120 Thangka masters will be on show in Nanjing city, East China's Jiangsu province, which is also an important part of this Thangka Art Expo.
Thangka Art Expo is a good way for the inheritance and development of Tibetan traditional culture and a platform where cultural resources are transformed into productivity.
