This year's Spring Festival and Tibetan New Year together fell on February 5, 2019. Early before the Tibetan New Year arriving, citizens of Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, were busy with shopping for the holiday. “Kasai”, a kind of traditional Tibetan food, is prepared for the upcoming Tibetan New Year, or “Losar”. “Kasai” is usually made of dough in various shapes and sizes, which is a fried Tibetan pastry indispensable for Tibetan festivals.
