Source:xzxw.com 2025-06-07

Tsering from Quxu County, Lhasa City, capital of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region -- a certified inheritor of Xizang's intangible cultural heritage (ICH) -- has dedicated himself to yak-hide boat making since age 30. Recognized as an ICH bearer by Xizang Autonomous Region in 2010, he handcrafts every component: stretching cured yak hide over pinewood frames joined by mortise-and-tenon joints, without nails. With decades of dedicated craftsmanship, he has kept the yak-hide boat, a cultural symbol of the Yarlung Zangbo River, shining brightly. #Tibetan Intangible Cultural Heritage
