On the 28th, the Qinghai-Xizang HVDC Power Transmission Project Phase II Expansion, a key project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan with an investment of 2.603 billion yuan, officially commenced operation. It doubles the power transmission capacity between Qinghai and Xizang to 1.2 million kilowatts. This effectively addresses Xizang's power shortage during the winter dry season and facilitates the outward transmission of Xizang electricity during the summer wet season.
