Xomdo Town in Lhorong County, Qamdo City, Xizang, serves as a crucial stop along the Ancient Tea Horse Road and an important corridor for interactions between the Han and Tibetan ethnic groups. Here, a Xomdo Lion Dance troupe has preserved the tradition introduced by a merchant in the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. Today, this art form has been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage item of the Xizang Autonomous Region. The troupe has seamlessly blended Central Plains culture with Tibetan customs, ensuring the transmission of ethnic culture from generation to generation.
