Namtso Lake is located in the central part of China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, spanning Damxung County of Lhasa City and Baingoin County of Nagqu City, about 240 kilometers from downtown Lhasa. Namtso is the second-largest lake in Xizang, the third-largest saltwater lake in China, and the world's highest large lake, with a lake elevation of 4,718 meters.
