By exploring the new development model of preschool education and constructing bilingual kindergartens in agricultural and pastoral areas, Tibet’s preschool education resources increase continuously and its popularity is improved greatly. From 2011 to 2014, with an investment of 1.932 billion yuan RMB, 1056 kindergartens are newly constructed or reconstructed,according to the Education Department of Tibet Autonomous Region.
Now, various kindergartens in Lhasa all have good hardware facilities such as classrooms, bedrooms and teaching tools. In addition, software conditions such as teachers and courses are qualified. By the end of 2014, 722 kindergartens have been constructed and put into use in Tibet, an increase of 603 than 2010. There are 81123 kids studying in kindergartens, an increase of 57709 than 2010. The kindergarten enrollment rate is 59.11%, increasing 34.61% than 2010.
By the end of 2014, there are 3394 kindergarten faculty members in Tibet, an increase of 1818 than 2010. At the same time, 1000 preschool education teachers will be added to grass-roots level kindergartens every year to make up the preschool education teachers gap.
