In the afternoon of April 30, 2015, Chen Quanguo, the party secretary of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region arrived at the T.A.R. Disaster Relief Materials Reserve Center examining aseismic andrelief supplies distribution work. He stressed putting the safety of people afflicted by the natural disaster first and sending the aseismic and relief supplies to them without delay.
In the T.A.R. Disaster Relief Materials Reserve, hundreds of soldiers were loading the aseismic and relief supplies,heavy duty trucks were about to set off to disaster-hit area.
When Chen Quanguo walked into a storage warehouse he checked those relief materials and listened to the report on condition of material reserves, distribution and transportation. Workers from the T.A.R. Department of Civil Affairs informed him that 11,000 tents from National Ministry of Civil Affairs were just delivered to Lhasa and about to be sent to disaster-hit area. During those days, a large sum of tents, food, water and medicine was delivered to disaster-hit area. Chen Quanguo said that we should make the most of our relief effort so that people affected by the earthquake can make it through and feel the safety and warmth of being in a huge and united family. He also said that the determination of people defeating the natural disaster and rebuilding their homes should bestoutened, which was of great importance.
Chen Quanguo went to the soldiers who were loading relief materials and joined them with their loading work, he expressed his concern and gratitude to those young soldiers who have being working continuously for several days: “As the time os short and the mission is heavy, especially being affected by high altitude anoxia, you guys are under high labor intensity. Yet the people affected by disaster will have more living guarantees when we make more efforts.”
Standing beside 3 trucks about to set off, Chwn Quanguo presented hadas to the drivers and reminded them being careful with night driving and rolling stones from mountains as he was informed the trucks would try to arrive at Gyirong and Lhatse in one day. When they left, Chen Quanguo waved his hand to send them his gratitude and deep concern.
