At present, the spring plowing work has been carried out orderly in Tibet, and the sowing area has reached 1,249,100 mu by the end of April, accounting for 39% of the planning area, according to the Agricultural and Pastoral Department of Tibet Autonomous Region.
The sowing area of Lhasa City is 236,000 mu, accounting for 47% of the planning area. Nyingchi Prefecture’s sowing area is 133,500 mu, accounting for 71% of the planning area, while Qamdo city is 507,200 mu, accounting for 75% of the planning area, Lhoka Prefecture is 233,900 mu, accounting for 66% of the planning area, and Shigatse City is 138,500 mu, accounting for 10% of the planning area. Among the sown areas, grain sowing area is 909,000 mu, commercial crop area is 271,000 mu and fodder grass area is 69,100 mu.
Now, Nagqu and Ngari have also started spring plowing work in succession. Tibet’s agricultural and pastoral sectors at all levels will keep an eye on the information and make reports.
