Books presented to Taiwanese to show a real Tibet

On the morning of May 26th, the delegation of China Tibetology Research Center paid a visit to the library of the Kun Shan University of Technology in Taiwan and donated books on Tibetology to the library.

At the donation ceremony, Wang Weiqiang, head of the delegation and deputy director of the Beijing Tibetan Medicine Hospital briefed guests, students and teachers, on behalf of the Tibetology Research Center on the development of the center and its recent research achievements.

He also expressed his wish to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the Taiwanese Tibetology research institutions and scholars, hoping that through this donation activity, more Taiwanese compatriots would be able to gain an understanding of the real changes and developments taken place in Tibet.

The Tibetology Research Centre presented books including “Tibet: Ancient and Modern”, “Reincarnation: The origin, development, historical rites”, “Tibetan customs”, “Research on the growth and shared benefits of interactive Tibetan industries”, and books in Tibetan culture, religion, social development, and other fields of study.

According to the Tibetology Research Centre, book donation activities to Taiwanese universities and religious groups have been held for six times, with an enthusiastic response each time.

By virtue of this academic exchanges, a number of excellent books on Tibetology from mainland China have been kept in Taiwan, which played a positive role in spreading Tibetan culture.

After the donation ceremony, alumni from the Tainan Meiho University, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and the Tainan High School Alumni Association held a discussion with the delegation. The participating Taiwanese scholars showed great interest in Tibetan culture, and expressed their hope to know more about the status of development in Tibet and Tibetan-inhabited areas in the four provinces of the mainland. They also expressed their wish to welcome the Tibetology Research Centre back again for further academic exchanges in the future.
