In recent years, by continuously strengthening the construction of technical personnel team, now Lhasa has over 500 technical personnel, who will lead farmers and herdsmen to get rich, according to the Lhasa Science and Technology Bureau.

In 2008, Tenzin, a villager of Yamda Village, Yamda Town, Doilungdeqen County, was self-employed and engaged in the Tibetan pig breeding industry. At that time, due to lack of technology and fund, he met with many difficulties. After taking part in trainings on planting and breeding as well as making practices, Tenzin accumulated certain cultivation experience and was chosen as technical personnel in 2012. At the same time, he established a breeding professional cooperative. Now, Tenzin has become a science and technology demonstration model and can get an annual income of over 200000 yuan RMB. In 2014, he was awarded as Lhasa’s “excellent technical personnel”.

In 2014, the popularizing rate of science and technology was 89%, which made a great contribution to Lhasa’s economic development and agricultural and husbandry development. Science and technology played an important role in supporting the social and economic development.

Every year, trainings for technical personnel will be carried out by Lhasa’s science and technology departments with the aim of improving their service ability. Under the leadership of technical personnel, farmers and herdsmen are motivated to develop agricultural projects to increase income.
