The Mount Qomolangma Base Camp reopens

On July 1st, the Mount Qomolangma Base Camp reopens to the public. Before this, it was closed off for the avalanches triggered by the Nepal earthquake. Now, the Karma trench eco-tourism zone, the east side of Mount Qomolangma, also fully opens.

After the earthquake in Nepal, the Mount Qomolangma Base Camp was closed temporarily for implementing traffic control, in order to run the rescue work smoothly and ensure the safety of tourists.

The chef of Dingri County’s tourist office said that after the reopening of Mount Qomolangma scenic spot, some roads to the Mount Qomolangma Base Camp will be passable within the time limit. The roadway from Gangga to the Chozong driveway, totaling 77 kilometers, only opens from 7am to 9am and 7pm to 9pm. Besides, the part, at the beginning of Chozong driveway, stretches 77kilometers, where will carry out the traffic control. Moreover, it is advised that tourist should make the transportation schedules in advance.
